A Prayer of Thanksgiving

         As we end this year 2019, let us express our thanksgiving to God for all the blessings that we have received this year. In spite of all the challenges that come along the way, we could still say that life indeed is such a wonderful gift for us.

         Let us be grateful for the gift of life that we cherish....for with it we are also able to share with others the real meaning of unconditional love.

That with our life, we continue to fulfil our responsibilities as models of good deeds to our children and to others;

         Let us be grateful to our good health and we pray for those who are suffering from any form of illness. With our good health, we are able to perform our responsibilities towards our workplace and we are able to mingle with others and promote camaraderie among ourselves;

         Let us also be grateful for the gift of talents, skills, capabilities etc that we have acquired and developed in our life for with them, we are able to become positive members of our society and be examples of good deeds to others.

Listening to Music

          One of my favourite past times is listening to music. Though at this point in time, my music preferences have changed with the cadence of the time yet it still is one of my outlet so as to be able to recharge from a hard day's work. As I see it everyday, there are several stressful situations that we encounter and at the end of the day, if we are not that creative, we could end up too tired and too lazy to get up for the next day's activities.

         Listening to music also allows me to appreciate the whole of it like lyrics, melody, background features, etc.. Remember that there are just similar notes being utilised in any song but it is so amazing to realise how the composer and arranger make everything in harmony with each other.

         Life then is like a music...it needs to be in constant harmony with both its internal and external dynamics. When one part is not in congruence with the rest then it could lead and start something undesirable. Hence,  it is always beneficial both for the person himself and for those outside of him to be in constant harmony so that peace and growth are attainable

         Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Effects of Online Games on Children

The proliferation of online activities nowadays are getting so popular. Online activities such as online games, trading, marketing, blogging and many more. My focus of sharing at this time is on the impact of online games like Nickelodion on children. Nevertheless, it is my observation that nowadays, children as early as 3 years old (or maybe there are those younger than that age bracket), they are already exposed to the online world of games.

Varieties of these online games can be in the form of online games for kids, for girls, for ipads, etc. and one advantage of this is that at such  early stage, they are already exposed to the modern world of technology. They need though to cope with the cadence of the times thus allowing them to be in with what is considered as advancement of this modern era.

On the contrary, there is also that risk that exposing our children to such development at that early stage would result to negative effects such as being manipulative, too relying on the internet (thus depriving them the chance to explore further), being too curious on things (others might happen to be not yet that appropriate for them ).

Thus, if we, adults, will try to check the situation of our children nowadays wisely, we therefore play a very significant role in this critical stage of their life and development. One of those demands on us is to be able to equate quality time for them. Our hectic schedules are not valid excuses for us to deprive our children with sufficient and desired upbringing. Whatever things that we impart with them today will impact less or more their life. Thus, may we all become effective bringers of good qualities to our children.

How Do We Cope With Illness?

          One of the given definitions about illness is when something is not okay with the body. (Source) Thus, from day to day experience, we could tell that one way or the other we have experienced this normal predicament to life. However, I know that it is always not easy when we are confronted with illness either mild or not.

          Experience wise would tell us that we have various coping mechanisms when it comes to dealing with them. Among these ways are submission, surrender, downhearted etc.. To deal with these three, let us share some common sceneries with them. First on submission, it means that we completely or partly submitted our self to the illness. There is that element of being able to accept it and somehow, we are ready for whatever development it will give to us.

          By the way, there are types of illness also like the shorter duration ones such as mild headache, stomachache etc. while there are also long lasting ones like complications due to cancer, tuberculosis, sprained ankle and others. However no matter what type of illness we have but what counts most is our attitude towards it. Of course, the manner of facing it is clearly different when it is shorter or a longer duration one.

          Anyway, the second given coping mechanism is surrender something similar to the first one which is submission. Surrender is when we all leave to God and to the assigned physicians the way the illness is being treated and faced. Like for example when someone is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he could surrender it by accepting it as a part of his life journey.

          The last one that we will share is downhearted meaning we allow ourselves to be negatively affected due to the impact of the illness to our body and to our life. This one is more on the negative side since without knowing it, our body can be influenced much by the negative effect that such reaction could give to it. And when we are down, try to feel and you will discover that gradually, we will also lose the will to move on and hang on to life.

          Hence, among the three mechanisms that we singled out here, we should choose one that could help us cope positively with the illness. We should constantly remember that our attitude towards the illness is an additional factor that can help us get out of it.

Positive Thinking: Learn How To Use It

          Just a while ago, I came across on some notes about the power of positive thinking. In order to learn from them, allow me to share some of them to you:

"1. Understand the benefits of being a positive thinker;
2. Take responsibility of your attitude;
3. Make a plan to stop being a negative thinker;
4. Try music, read books about inspirational life stories and avoid being with people who are negative thinkers." - Source: http://www.wikihow.com/Think-Positively

          So here they are...four of those tips which can help you to get rid of that negativity in your mind and in your heart. There's nobody else who can assist you to improve in your life except you yourself. You need to instil in your mind that being a positive thinker allows you to hurdle those trials that come your way.

          On the other hand, never look back and merely linger on those painful moments in your life for they will just cause you to be down and out. Instead focus on those bright moments in your life......those memories that allowed you to laugh without inhibitions at all...moments that enabled you to become a normal human person.

          Remember constantly: never blame anybody for whatever negative chapter you have in your journey. Be brave enough to consider defeats in certain moments in life as well as unafraid to get up from falling down. After a hard day's rain, the sun will always shine. Give back those positive energy to others and let the world smile on you.
